ROLF B. ARNADE, LL.M. Lawyer, Attorney at law (N.Y.), Master of Laws (LL.M.), Certified Specialist Lawyer (Fachanwalt) for Industrial Property, Bankkaufmann. Dr. Rolf B. Arnade was born in 1960 in Wesseling near Cologne. After a banking apprenticeship he studied law in Bochum, Munich, Münster, Dallas (USA) and Oxford (GB - University College). In Dallas in 1988 he earned the academic title of Master of Laws (LL.M.). In 1990 he received his doctorate degree from the University of Münster, Westphalia, on an international trademark law topic. The dissertation was published as a book by Duncker & Humblot, publishers, being accepted in the publication series „Münster´s contributions to the science of law“ by the university publisher´s board. He completed his legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf with jobs in the State Chancellery and in the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Dresden as well as at a New York Wall Street law firm. Dr. Arnade is admitted to practice as a lawyer in Germany and the US state of New York. He initially worked as an indoor corporate lawyer and led the legal department of an international engineering group with subsidiaries in the US, Brazil, Switzerland, India and China. In 1997 he set up a lawyer’s office in Dresden specializing in intellectual property law, with which he joined BSKP in 2014. Dr. Arnade is a certified specialist lawyer for intellectual property rights and until 2014, when he joined BSKP in Berlin, he served as chairman of the certified specialist lawyer’s committee for industrial property protection of the bar association Saxony. He advises companies in the field of intellectual property law (trademark law, patent law, unfair competition), supervises mandates in copyright and media law, arranges business start-ups, also with cross-border structure, and handles national and overseas corporate and commercial disputes, especially in international trade as well as national and cross-border M&A.
