SCHWEINITZ Dr. Oliver von Schweinitz has been a partner at LPA-GGV since 2016, focusing on national and international tax issues. Most of his clients are banks, funds or HNWI. He is a member of the OECD Working Group 10 Business Advisory Group (on tax transparency issues). His previous experience includes working for a Magic Circle law firm (mainly in the area of real estate/capital market tax), a US law firm (mainly for private equity clients, real estate/NPL) and the Big4 Accounting Firms (mainly tax and supervisory law issues of banks). Within LPA-GGV he works for the financial services department. He holds a Doctorate degree from Heidelberg university under the supervision of Professor Paul Kirchhof (on EU tax issues), a DEUG en droit from the Sorbonne and LLM from Duke School North Carolina. He is admitted to both the NY Bar and the German bar; he is also a German tax advisor. He regularly contributes to leading German and international publications, including a commentary on the German AML Act (Zentes/Glaab: Frankfurter Kommentar) and the Handbook Private Equity (on mezzanine investments). He has also published extensively on rating agency law.
