Fabian Fegers is an equity partner at Eisenführ Speiser, a leading IP law firm with a one-stop-shop approach for all IP matters. Fabian primarily engages in filing, prosecuting and enforcing German and European patents as well as utility models. Among his clients are German and US based mid-sized companies and international corporations. He supports them in building and implementing their IP strategy creating a valuable IP portfolio. Additionally, Fabian Fegers is regularly involved in their patent infringement and invalidity cases and draws from an extensive experience in oppositions.
Counseling start-ups and Venture Capitalists is an additional particular focus of Fabian Fegers. He supports them in IP Due Diligences, be it pre-seed, during seed or series A investments or later stages, and in building and managing an IP portfolio. Aiming at a value creating IP strategy, he is particular strong in building the IP portfolio from early stage on and tailoring it for later exit. VCs and Investment Funds regularly approach Fabian for his assessment of a target or portfolio company’s IP situation in IP DDs. Furthermore, Fabian regularly gives lectures for young founders and Venture Capitalists and publishes various articles in renowned journals.
Fabian holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering and one in economics from RWTH Aachen University and KTH Stockholm. He gained additional practical experience in law firms and in a patent department of a Fortune 500 corporation in the USA, which allows him to take an US view on IP matters. Due to his technical background and practical experience, he possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of medical devices, medical robotics and software including machine learning, automotive, industrial technologies such as machine tools and production facilities, as well as general mechanical engineering, such as pumps, gears, sensor technology and consumer goods.
